DENIM Made in USA

Denim Made in USA stands for quality, authenticity, and a unique tradition. The history of denim is deeply rooted in the United States – from the first durable jeans worn by gold miners and cowboys in the 19th century to the iconic blue jeans that later became symbols of freedom, rebellion, and lifestyle.

What makes American denim special are its heavyweight cotton fabrics, the distinctive indigo dyeing, and the artisanal craftsmanship that many brands still preserve today. US mills often use vintage shuttle looms to weave selvedge denim, resulting in a dense, durable fabric with exceptional character. Over time, this denim develops striking fades and wear patterns, turning every garment into a one-of-a-kind piece.

The tradition of denim in the USA is more than just fashion – it’s cultural heritage. American brands continue this legacy by focusing on local production, traditional techniques, and uncompromising quality standards. Denim Made in USA remains a symbol of authenticity, craftsmanship, and timeless style.

DENIM WEIGHT? WHATS THE DIFFERENCE?

Lightweight denim (under ~12 oz) is soft, breathable, and comfortable for warmer weather, breaking in quickly.

Midweight denim (~12–16 oz) offers a balance of durability and comfort, suitable for year-round wear.

Heavyweight denim (16 oz and above) is thick, stiff, and highly durable, developing deep fades and character over time, ideal for long-lasting, rugged wear.

WHAT FITS ME THE BEST?

Slim fit jeans are narrow through the thigh and taper down the leg, giving a modern, tailored silhouette while still allowing some movement.

Regular fit jeans have a straight cut from hip to hem, offering a classic look with balanced comfort for everyday wear.

Loose fit jeans provide extra room through the hips, thighs, and legs, ideal for maximum comfort, layering, or a relaxed, casual style.

LEG-FIT

Slim leg jeans are narrow from thigh to ankle, creating a modern, fitted silhouette.

Straight leg jeans maintain a consistent width from hip to hem for a classic, versatile look.

Loose leg jeans are roomier through the hips, thighs, and legs for maximum comfort and a relaxed style.

Open leg jeans have a wider opening at the ankle, giving a casual, laid-back appearance and more freedom of movement.

RRL in the spotlight

We began by studying vintage workwear, examining every stitch, fabric, and detail to understand what made these garments last and look authentic.

Week after week, we visited workshops and mills across the U.S. and Japan, searching for the right craftsmen who could bring our vision to life. At the time, reproducing these pieces faithfully was nearly impossible—many traditional looms were outdated, sewing machines rare, and fabrics and hardware limited.

We had to track down vintage denim, restore old machines, and source authentic buttons, threads, and rivets. From fabric to finishing touches, we rebuilt everything from the ground up, committed to creating garments that honor the heritage of classic American workwear while meeting modern standards of quality.
