The Iron Mordant Foxfibre® Double Heavyweight French Terry - Coyote 80 stands as one of the heaviest knits available today, boasting an exceptional 825 GSM (24.3 oz per square yard). Its deep, earthy brown hue is not achieved through traditional dyeing, but through a natural blend of Foxfibre® cotton and iron mordant treatment - resulting in a rich, organic tone that deepens over time. Foxfibre® is a naturally colored cotton, organically grown on a single-origin farm in New Mexico, eliminating the need for synthetic dyes. The Coyote 80 blend represents the darkest and most saturated shade in the Foxfibre® range, composed of 80% Foxfibre® and 20% organically grown Extra Long Staple cotton. This blend enhances both softness and durability. To deepen the fabric’s tone, the cotton fibers undergo an iron mordant treatment—a traditional technique in which the material is soaked in an iron-rich solution that reacts with the cotton's natural pigments. This process intensifies the fabric's color, creating a dimensional and earthy brown tone. Over time, the color of Foxfibre® continues to evolve naturally, gaining further depth through wear and exposure.
Knitted in Wakayama, Japan, using circular knitting machines, the fabric features a low-gauge (10G) construction and an irregular surface texture. The interior is lined with large, soft loops that enhance both comfort and visual character.
The Pullover Hoodie features a modern athletic fit, complete with a drawstring hood and a functional hand warmer pocket. Raglan sleeves, ribbed side panels, cuffs, and hem provide structure and comfort, while flat seam construction ensures a clean, refined finish. Expertly crafted in Japan to deliver superior quality.
