Made in organic cotton 11.5 oz. rigid denim, it's NJ' second dry fabric, but here it has been washed to a well-balanced yet bold finish. The broken twill works exceptionally well here and elevates the details of the fabric to perfection. Both yarns, warp and weft, carry streakiness resulting in a crosshatch pattern throughout the fabric, and crisp white neps are present pop in the darker areas. The added fades and wear marks are elegantly added and blend flawlessly with the heavy textured lines in a subtle way. The varying thickness of yarn, along with the twill pattern, results in immaculate layered vertical lines with shifting tones of blue. The wash brings this piece to life, and the slubby nature of the fabric brings with it a whole lot of character.
The texture provided by this fabric is robust, yet it carries a very soft hand. It's slubby, and it's bold, and it pays homage to NJ' humble beginnings. Ring-spun cotton and expert craftsmanship by Candiani Mills is a combination that's not easily beaten - and a washed Candiani fabric is something out of the ordinary.
