Known as the "Holy Grail of Military Watches," the Type A-7 is a legendary pilot’s watch. On October 10, 1934, the U.S. Army Air Corps released Military Specification No. 27748, defining the design and functionality of these “Avigation” (Aerial Navigation) watches. Built to this spec, the Type A-7 was manufactured by Longines, Gallé (white dial), and Meylan, and was the first pilot’s watch to feature a hacking function. Its combination of precision, durability, and iconic design has made it a highly prized collector’s piece.
