This is a standard Warehouse body knitted on an old-fashioned low-gauge knitting machine, which is said to be "rarer than a hanging knitting machine." This fabric is called a shadow border, knitted with uneven yarn #12 to create a unique shadow effect, and although it is plain, it has a subtle unevenness like horizontal stripes. Rather than a modern neckline that slopes down extremely in the front, the neckline loosens as you wear it, creating a natural slope down the front while maintaining its strength by inserting piping into the milling.
