The pea coat - or also called Caban jacket, peacoat or reefer jacket - is an outer coat, generally made of a navy-colored heavy wool and was originally worn by sailors of European and later American Navies. Main characters are the short length, broad lapels, double-breasted front buttons, three or four in two rows, and vertical or slash pockets.
